Mayor's Ramadan Diversity Dinner (August 29, 2009) The Mayor's Ramadan Diversity Dinner concluded earlier tonight.
The turnout was far in excess of that at the previous year's event. Our association was one of the Gold Sponsors and received
the shield of recognition from the organizers of the event. In addition, AMMP president Dr. Arshad Abbasi,
treasurer Dr. Nimr Ikram and secretary Dr. Asad Mohmand presented a check of $5000 for Lansing
Food Bank, from your combined contributions. One of our energetic members, Dr. Abdulmajid Katranji was instrumental in the
success of this event both from his personal dedication to the success of the event, and as a representative of the Association
of Michigan Muslim Physicians.
Alhamdulillah, our first project was a resounding success and we hope that with
your support and active involvement, we will carry this momentum into the successful planning and execution of many such events
in the future, inshallah.
