Serving Humanity beyond the call of Duty.
In
January 2009, eight like-minded individuals from the Mid Michigan area gathered for dinner. What brought them together was
a vision that saw strength and promise in providing a common platform for Muslim Physicians of Mid Michigan. Over the next
few months, these individuals - two neurologists, a neurosurgeon, an internist, a pulmonologist, a hand surgeon, an orthopedic
surgeon and a pathologist - brainstormed and pondered over ways to bring the Muslim Physicians under one umbrella for the
greater good of the society at large, and the Muslim Ummah. The Association of Michigan Muslim Physicians, or AMMP, was born
out of these session which lasted late into the nights.
Muslim physicians are active and valuable
members of the US society, all of whom contribute to the wellness of individuals and the benefit of their local societies
at one level or another. As members of AMMP, we believe that by working together as a unit with a single voice, the effect
of our individual efforts can have an exponential impact on our society and our communities. AMMP is fueled by the talent
and commitment of its individual members, who bring to the table a unique set of ideas, ambitions and a force that strives
to bring to light the true face of Islam - that of charity, harmony and professional excellence.
